Soulfire Warrior

SoulFire Qi Gong is not a martial art.

The ability to maintain balance and composure, while coordinating the spinal muscles, torso, and limbs, with the breath, is the goal of the SoulFire Warrior.

In older traditions, the idea of being a warrior was sacred.  Many legends and rites of warrior castes and clans survive to this day.  The Kuji or Juji No In of the Shingon Mikkyo sects, the legend of the Holy Grail sought after by the 12 Knights of the Round Table, and of course, the Buddhist warrior monks taught by Damo, who started the Qi Gong and martial arts traditions of ancient China, are some examples.

The warrior’s creed is to protect and offer direct effort.  It is the archetypal yang, masculine energy of the universe.  The creative, assertive form must bind with the yin, feminine, receptive, and healing energy, to design and build.

The forces of fear and darkness sow discord in our midst, which is their task.  The SoulFire Warrior’s task is to dispel discord and chaos, and regenerate accord and order.  This can only be done with correct power, strength, confidence, and intention.

The mindset of a true warrior lies in the philosophy of the warrior system, which they inherit.  The SoulFire Warrior does not blindly follow orders like modern-day soldiers.  Each warrior is autonomous, answering only to themselves and their conscience, considering deeply before innovating and proceeding in action.

The SoulFire Warrior is built on a foundation of compassion, situational awareness, balance, and determined movement (intention).

The ability to move in balance with the relaxed force of a tornado moving over its centre of gravity is an exercise in the qi gong sessions.  Moving in circles, straight lines, and curves with power and grace is a hallmark of engrained SoulFire movement.  The arms are free to direct intention from the energy centres, spewing vital life force like firehoses.  Always, the breath is centred and the mind is easily open and aware of the desired outcome.

Any obstacle to the proposed goal is calmly and easily overcome with modesty and softness.  Oncoming force cannot exist when it is dissipated at its own initiation.  The endsite is the prayer.

This is a SoulFire Warrior.
