WHat Is Soulfire Qi Gong?
SoulFire Qi Gong is not a martial art or a religion or belief system. It is an experiential system. It has to be experienced and practised in order to understand it, and then if one chooses, the continued practise will reward the practitioner.
For many people, SoulFire Qi Gong will not make sense or will not resonate with their temperament. For others, the practise will bring the intention they put into it, to the extent that they themselves feel they deserve it.
SoulFire is a blend of movement with spirit and vigour. The foundations of qi gong come from those dances around the fires before hunting and celebrating.
Qi gong touches our very archetypal nature and is bound to all of humanity’s history and culture. It is moving to be resourceful, to let go of our ‘little’ nature and to, for that time, become a madness of sublimity and divinity. It is to let go and become.
The movement aspect of SoulFire is the foundation of the system, is exercise based and involves cardiovascular, HIIT, strength, balance and functional movement pattern training.
There are breathing exercises which revitalise the blood massage and strengthen the organs as well as the diaphragm and accessory breathing muscles.
A major part of the movement/exercise of SoulFire Qi Gong is the potential to rehabilitate the body, mind and spirit.
SoulFire uses movement to diagnose instability, pain or weakness in any range of motion, and uses this finding as key element in individualizing exercises suited for a persons particular muscular-skeletal injuries.
Rehabilitation of the mental-emotional and spiritual wounds is important work done by all SoulFire practitioners.
We all bear the ‘scars of life’, and how we carry them is the focus of the inner work that we do in SoulFire.
By continuous practise the body-mind complex builds an inner and outer body that is strong enough to heal the wounds and put them in perspective to the current person practising.
